Digital Shapers 2020 engage to drive the Swiss digital future forward
From researchers to venture capitalists and tech innovators - these people are the who's who of digital Switzerland.
They work in large organisations and help them to move forward into the digital age, design the necessary framework conditions for digital transformation or lay the foundations for new technologies. They are academics, bloggers, authors, researchers, or employees in think tanks. For the fifth time, BILANZ, in cooperation with Handelszeitung and Le Temps, has selected the Digital Shapers, 100 people who are driving digitalisation in Switzerland.
Who’s who. They are digital pioneers, data enthusiasts, and digital visionaries, covering everything from innovative healthcare solutions and digital tools to promote education, manufacturing and technology. They all share a common motivation: to positively inspire not only Switzerland but the world.
Digital shapers around the corner. Among the 2020 Digital shapers, several Geneva-based actors are identified: Immverse’s CEO Javier Bello, and Amanda Byrde, co-president of Impact Hub Switzerland, for example, are among the creatives; B Lab founder, Jonathan Normand, and co-founder of Impaakt, Bertrand Gacon, help to ensure that the world is still worth living in the future as sustainers; and MCI Group Implementation and Information Manager, Karen Bhavnani, and WEF Digital media specialist, Beatrice di Caro, provide advice and support as mentors to promote the Swiss digital scene.
In numbers. This year, the selection is both diverse and inspiring. 73 per cent of the personalities are new shapers, 34 per cent come from French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino, and 33 per cent are women.
